A guided South African wine masterclass and a taste of where it all comes from.
South Africa quietly makes some of the most thrilling wine on earth: old-vine Chenin, savoury Swartland Syrah, Cabernet to rival far pricier names.
Most are made in tiny quantities and rarely make it to Australia at all. We've gathered nine of the best, poured and explained across a guided flight, alongside a grazing spread of bites with boerewors flying the South African flag.
It also happens to fall almost exactly one year since we started pouring here ourselves. What better way to mark it than with wines from home.
Hosted by Gary Barber, wine sourcing specialist.
